I have always enjoyed meaningful conversation
And the search for wisdom led me to become a philosophy professor.
It was the same search that then led me to test a religious vocation.
After God led me back out into the world the first thing I did was work as a caregiver. As a caregiver I sat at the feet of my elders and listened to them. In doing that, I was pursuing wisdom. And when hospice and death come a-knocking wisdom was loved all the more.
I felt attracted to hospice work and put my whole heart into following this calling. In the meantime, I took a position in the mental health field and became a behavioral specialist. Upon the completion of a master's in social work and the attainment of licensure I became a hospice social worker.
Although hospice was challenging and rewarding, ultimately, I found myself once more working in the mental health field, this time as a psychotherapist.
Both hospice and psychotherapy present opportunities. But it is philosophical counseling which IS meaningful conversation.
Will you join me in the pursuit of wisdom?
DISCLAIMER
Although in the past I have worked as a psychotherapist, this is a philosophical practice, not a psychotherapeutic one.
